Making gingerbread houses is one of my favorite holiday activities, but sadly I don’t get to build them as often as I’d like. Fortunately, Cooking with Stacey has changed this: Gingerbread Competition Hype!
One of the many things that I love about my family is that they don’t go small on anything- especially Christmas.
One of the many things that I love about my family is that they do not go small on anything- especially Christmas. My mom goes all out decorating the house (it’s like walking into a Christmas movie) and my dad has won Christmas Light competitions for his outdoor lighting. So when I teamed up with them to do a gingerbread house, I knew this wasn’t going to be an ordinary house. The result: Three Floors of the Whabam Studio!
We took inspiration from the incredible work at the Banff Springs Hotel (which is a miniature version of itself) and started with a dream. From there, we made the bottom floor the Nerdy Bartender set, the second floor is the Cooking with Stacey kitchen, and the attic which is the home of #MikeItSo and his massive supercomputer. Our main ingredients were gingerbread, graham cookie, wafers and a LOT of icing!
The Gingerbread Competition was a huge success! So many entries and so many hours were put into building some absolutely stunning works of art. Our winner, Clasicmac, and 2nd place, ZeroPointProps, submitted Star Wars themed entries, with a third-place tie between Todash and JustGreat having an RGB light up cabin and PlayStation 4 respectively.
Everyone’s work looked so beautiful and I hope these creations sit on the mantle or in front of the Christmas tree until the season ends! Though by then, I imagine most of the candies will be have been picked off.
Thank you for taking part in, what I expect to be, a yearly tradition!
